Rally in the Valley

Now that Cynthia Baldwin has retired from the Pennsylvania Supreme Court, she has jumped whole-heartedly into the voter registration, voter education effort. We are holding such an event on Saturday, September 7, 2024, between Noon and 3 pm, at Noah’s Ark Community Center, located at 200 6th Street, McKeesport, Pennsylvania 15132. Please see the attached flyer. Unfortunately, many times the Mon Valley is either taken for granted or neglected during the political processes and campaigns. Our intent is to reach as many churches, organizations, and individuals in every community in the Mon Valley (Allegheny, Fayette, Greene, Washington and Westmoreland counties) to provide voter education and voter registration as well as to excite the public about voting. We have reached out to over 35 churches, and numerous organizations and individuals throughout the Mon Valley. The response thus far has been great. This event will include representatives from organizations dedicated to voter education/voter registration (e.g., the League of Women Voters, B-PEP, NAACP, etc.). This is a non-partisan event and the committees of both major political parties have been notified. In addition to the Mon Valley public, candidates or their representatives, elected officials and the media have been invited. Elected officials, candidates or their official representatives will be offered the opportunity to speak briefly. The "New Pittsburgh Courier," the"Mon Valley Independent," and the "Tube City Almanac" will feature the "Rally in the Valley" in their publications this week (see URL below). KDKA, WTAE and WPXI TV stations have been notified about the event. We are in touch with numerous elected officials and campaigns. It is most important, however, to get the word out to as many people as possible. While every election is important, most agree that this election is pivotal which is why Cynthia and I are hosting this event. Thank you in advance for your participation and cooperation.
