MAIL-IN BALLOTING WILL PROCEED AS PLANNED

Recent news headlines about challenges to mail-in balloting do not change our responsibility to Allegheny County voters. Preparation for the November 3 election is well underway, and the election will go on as planned.

If you have requested a mail-in ballot, rest assured that our work to meet your expectations has not diminished. We will proceed with mailings as directed under PA Department of State guidelines when ballots are ready.

But what if your ballot doesn’t arrive as expected? In that case, you still have at least three opportunities to vote:

  1. You may go to a satellite voting location. See dates and times below.
  2. You may vote over the counter at the County Office Building. Availability begins when ballots are ready and will be announced in coming days.
  3. You may vote at your polling place on November 3, from 7:00 am to 8:00 pm.

Make your plan to vote. Then make a backup plan. We will be ready to serve you.

SATELLITE VOTING TIMES, DATES, LOCATIONS SET

Five satellite election offices will be available to serve voters around the county between October 7 and October 25. At these locations, voters may register, apply for, receive, vote, and return their mail-in and absentee ballots.

On Wednesday and Thursday, October 7 and 8, 2026, from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, a satellite office will be open at:

Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hall Auditorium

On Saturdays and Sundays, October 17, 18, 24 and 25, 2026, from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, satellite offices will be open at:

Community College of Allegheny County - Homewood
701 N. Homewood Ave., Pittsburgh 15208 (opens in new tab)

North Park Ice Rink
1200 Pearce Mill Rd., Wexford 15090 (opens in new tab)

South Park Ice Rink
30 Corrigan Dr., Bethel Park 15102 (opens in new tab)

County Office Building

Any Allegheny County voter is eligible to vote at any satellite location. Voters in possession of their completed mail-in ballot may also return the ballot at a satellite location. Remember: You may only return your own ballot unless you have a completed designated agent form (opens in new tab).

OVER THE COUNTER VOTING OPENS SOON AT THE COUNTY OFFICE BUILDING

Over the counter voting will be available as soon as ballots are finalized. The state deadline for filing of nomination certificates or papers to fill vacancies is September 14, and ballots will be finalized after that date has passed. The exact date will be announced as soon as possible.

Voters may request an over the counter ballot during regular business hours from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm Monday through Friday on the first floor of the County Office Building across from the elevators. This service is available as soon as ballots are ready and will be available until 4:30 pm on October 27, 2026.

Any Allegheny County voter is eligible to request a ballot over the counter.

Voters in possession of their completed mail-in ballot may also return the ballot at the counter.

VOTE IN YOUR POLLING PLACE IF YOUR BALLOT DOESN’T ARRIVE

If Election Day arrives and your mail-in ballot has not, you can still vote.

Make your way to your polling place. Poll workers will check to see if you are on the list of mail-in ballot recipients. If so, the poll workers will provide you with a provisional ballot packet.

A provisional ballot is exactly the same as a regular ballot. You will vote it in the same manner as you would a mail-in ballot or a regular ballot at the polling place. There will be a bit of extra paperwork to fill out at the polling place.

The provisional ballot packets are set aside by poll workers to be evaluated by the Elections Return Board after Election Day to make sure the provisional voter does not already have a ballot that has been counted, and that the voter is a qualified registrant of Allegheny County. After that evaluation is complete, qualifying ballots will be scanned and added to election totals and the voter will be given credit in the registration system for having voted.

YOU CAN RETURN YOUR MAIL-IN BALLOT IN PERSON

Prefer not to put your completed ballot in the mail? You may return your ballot in person at the satellite election offices described above; at the County Office Building, 542 Forbes Ave., Pittsburgh, 15219 (opens in new tab), during business hours Monday through Friday, 8:30 am to 4:30 pm; or at any of the following locations which will be open at these times and dates:

11:00 am to 7:00 pm on Friday, October 30, 2026, and Monday, November 2, 2026.

9:00 am to 5:00 pm on Saturday, October 31, and Sunday, November 1, 2026.

By resolution of the Board of Elections of Allegheny County on September 4, three more locations will be added to the Ballot Return site list. Those locations will be determined and announced in coming days, and will be scheduled at the times and dates established for the already-identified locations.

You may also return a voted mail-in ballot at the County Office Building on Election Day at the Ross Street entrance between 7:00 am and 8 pm. Voters may park briefly on Ross Street while returning ballots.

VOTING IN PERSON? CHECK YOUR POLLING LOCATION

If you plan to vote in person on November 3, you can check on your polling place location on the countywide list of polling places (opens in new tab).

You’ll need your municipality, ward, and district to identify your polling place. If you don't have that information, you can find it at the PA Voter Services Polling Place Locator. (opens in new tab)

Former polling places are identified on Election Day by signage directing voters to the new location.

Polling places are open from 7:00 am to 8:00 pm. Voters in line at 8:00 pm will be allowed to vote.

POLL WORKERS MAKE DEMOCRACY HAPPEN!

More than 6,000 poll workers will come out to serve Allegheny County voters on November 3.

Poll workers are still needed in Baldwin Borough, Cheswick, Collier, Crafton, Forward, Glassport, Hampton, Harrison, Indiana, Jefferson Hills, Monroeville, Moon, Penn Hills, Plum, Ross, Scott, Shaler, and Wilmerding. October 27, 2026 – Ballot Request Deadline
Last day to apply for a civilian absentee or mail-in ballot before General Election. [ACDC suggests requesting by October 20 and mailing by October 27, to be safe]

November 3, 2026 – General Election
Polls are open from 7:00 am to 8:00 pm. Last day for return of mail-in and civilian absentee ballots.
